01The beaches

More than ten beaches, within twenty kilometres

Siniscola lies on the east coast of Sardinia, and its sea is the reason many people come all this way. Each beach has a character of its own.

  1. 01

    La Caletta

A long stretch of golden sand that runs for kilometres, with shallow, safe waters: perfect for those travelling with children, and for those who seek a quiet kind of beauty.

  2. 02

    Santa Lucia

Fine white sand, a pine wood behind it and the Aragonese tower that has watched over the sea for centuries. Here nature meets history.

  3. 03

    Capo Comino

White sand dunes and ancient junipers, a landscape that seems to stand outside time.

  4. 04

    Berchida

Many consider it one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Going there is the best way to see for yourself.

02Flora

The maquis, which gives the rooms their names

Around Siniscola the Mediterranean maquis reigns: a tangle of evergreens such as holm oak, strawberry tree, myrtle and mastic, hardy plants made for long summers and mild winters.

Then there are the medicinal herbs. Sage, thyme and lavender grow wild and scent the wind, and have always been part of traditional Sardinian medicine. Along the coast grow the sea daffodil and posidonia, which works underwater like a green lung.

And there’s the pompia, the knobbly citrus that grows only here, in the Baronia. It gave its name to one of our rooms.

03Fauna

The inhabitants of the Baronia

Foxes, Sardinian hares, wild boar and mouflon live in the hills. In the sky fly the grey heron, the peregrine falcon and the golden eagle.

Pink flamingos, avocets and black-winged stilts stop over in the coastal lagoons. And in the sea, besides fish, molluscs and crustaceans, there are Caretta caretta turtles, which choose these beaches to lay their eggs.
