The wildlife of the Baronia

From the hills to the lagoons and down to the sea

The hills are home to foxes, Sardinian hares, wild boar and mouflon. Overhead fly grey herons, peregrine falcons and golden eagles.

Pink flamingos, avocets and black-winged stilts stop off in the coastal lagoons. And in the sea, besides fish, molluscs and crustaceans, there are loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta), which choose these beaches to lay their eggs.
